The strong winds on the coast, added to constant solar irradiation, make this the perfect region for the production of wind and solar energy.

In this way, the new president of Petrobras met with the Governor of the State, in the capital Natal, to discuss future projects in the region.

Jean Paul Prates announced that, in addition to continuing to operate in the oil and gas sector, the oil company will present future projects for the generation of renewable energies in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

“Petrobras is a mixed company that has the federal government as its largest shareholder and controller. In this new government we will resume investments and, in addition to maintaining the areas of prospecting, production, refining and marketing, we will add renewable energy activities that will be headquartered in Natal”, highlighted Prates.

Fátima Bezerra, current Governor of Rio Grande do Norte, highlighted the socioeconomic responsibility of the state-owned company in the new Lula Government towards the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

She stated that Petrobras' projects guarantee a strong economic movement in the region, in addition to promoting several job opportunities for residents.

In addition, the housekeeper recalled that RN also has a high potential for renewable energy production, which is very advantageous for the company's operations.

In addition to announcing the new renewable energy projects in Rio Grande do Norte, Prates informed the Governor that there will be an immediate suspension of the transfer of Rio Grande do Norte workers to other states.

“Transfers are suspended. Employees and their families can rest assured. Petrobras will continue operating in Rio Grande do Norte, where it has been for 50 years, and will expand investments here”, reinforced the new president of Petrobras.

This was a respectful decision towards Potiguar workers, according to Fátima, since they built the base of the state-owned company's projects in RN.

With the confirmation of Petrobras' continuity in the RN, Fátima said that the work committee formed by technicians from the State and the oil company will be reactivated to overcome obstacles and make processes and investments viable.

In addition, it will continue to communicate directly with the state-owned company for the development of future renewable energy projects at the site.

In this way, Jean Paul Prates strengthens Petrobras' relations with the Government of RN and expands the presence of the state-owned company beyond the oil and gas market.
