Recent changes in diesel prices reflect a mix of stability and regional adjustments.

The analysis of diesel price variations, between the week of 27/08/2023 to 02/09/2023 and 03/09/2023 to 09/09/2023, revealed intriguing data. It was observed that while certain regions experienced a slight decline in diesel pricing, others showed more notable adjustments. Constant monitoring of price fluctuations is essential, as even minimal changes can significantly influence organizations' operating costs and consumers' budgets.

Regional Details: Major and Minor Adjustments

Brasília, for example, saw an increase in S10 diesel by 2,51%, with a current price of R$6,54. At the same time, regular diesel increased by 2,75%, reaching R$ 6,36. On the other hand, Campo Grande recorded a 3,18% increase in the price of S10, reaching R$ 6,16, while regular diesel suffered a drop of -2,29%, now being R$ 5,98. Macapá and Natal, in turn, had reductions in common diesel, with Macapá at -2,55% (R$6,11) and Natal at -2,70% (R$6,13). In São Luís, there was an increase in S10 of 2,15% (R$ 6,17), but a decrease in common of -5,41% (R$ 5,60). São Paulo followed this trend, increasing regular diesel by 0,49% (R$6,12 for the S10) and 0,68% for regular diesel (R$5,92).

Expert Perspectives

Ricardo Henrique, data analyst at IPTC, highlighted that the last week showed stability in diesel prices, even maintaining an elevation pattern. “These variations, which have recently shown a certain constancy in certain areas, are in contrast to the impacts of the notable price increase announced by Petrobras,” he said, adding that some capitals could not be analyzed due to lack of data.

Currently, Rio Branco is the capital with the most expensive diesel, with the S10 at R$6,92 and the common one at R$6,80. On the other hand, Manaus has the lowest prices: R$5,83 for the S10 and R$5,78 for the common one.
