A Norwegian electric car company has developed a 4×4, called the Fresco XL, which can deliver up to 1 km of range on a single charge and can even return energy to the electrical grid.
Fresco Motors, a Norwegian startup, has announced its new electric car, a 4×4 called the Fresco XL, aimed at off-road, capable of carrying up to 8 people and with a range of 1 km on a single charge. The company did not go into the technical details of its model, but we know that its design is certainly innovative. The battery of the electric car is called extra-large by the company, so much so that it must be stacked twice so that the 4×4 achieves maximum storage capacity.

Meet the Fresco Motors electric car that can be used as a battery to return energy to the grid
The company's 4×4 has an electric motor acting on each axle. The CEO of Fresco Motors, Espen Kvalvik, says that this way you get better traction on slippery roads, in addition to the vehicle acting in off-road.
According to the COO and Member of the Board of Fresco, Adrian Kristofer Locklindh, in order to ensure high energy efficiency and greater autonomy, the model will be equipped with aerodynamic rims. The company also mentions other possible ways of using the car, such as, for example, a kind of “battery” in cases of power outages, and also as a field vehicle.
According to Locklindh, in case the owner needs power, just connect the 4×4 to the home network. Because of its large battery, it will mainly function as a backup unit.
Electric 4×4 will cost around 100 euros
The Norwegian startup posted a video on Youtube showing a little more about what customers can expect from the electric car. Pre-orders are now open for €1. However, the 4×4 electric car, when finished, will cost around 100 euros, about R$600, without taking into account fees and taxes.
Fresco Motors started its activities in 2017 and had already unveiled a concept car, named the Reverie, which never actually reached full-scale production.
Its name came in honor of the social engineer, self-taught industrial designer, writer, futurologist, professor and inventor Jacque Fresco, who worked in the most diverse areas, from biomedical innovations to fully integrated social systems.
Electric car market develops and subsidiary of Chinese giant CATL launches battery in the shape of a chocolate bar
The company CAES, a subsidiary of the Chinese giant CATL, developed a kind of battery in the shape of a chocolate bar that received the name of Choco-SEB. The company's idea is to put aside the attempt to offer more autonomy with denser and more powerful batteries, but to offer the replacement of the component at stations, in a process that can take just 1 minute.
According to the company, by exchanging the discharged modules for fully charged ones, it is possible to recover up to 200 km of autonomy. The company has not yet treated the value. Each customer will be able to rent up to three battery modules and also claims that the components are small and with a high energy density.
