With this acquisition, Omega is expanding its operations beyond the Northeast and Southeast and also establishing a presence in the South of Brazil, as well as increasing its portfolio in the wind energy market in the country, with a still timid share of less than 10%.

The company Omega Geração intends to expand projects in the state of Bahia and announced the acquisition of half of the stake in wind farms of the French multinational EDF Renewables for BRL 662 million.
The binding agreement is for the purchase of a slice of the Ventos da Bahia wind farms 1 and 2, which have an installed capacity of 182,6 megawatts.
