Eneva's new thermoelectric plant will be built near Azulão, where the company will drill new gas extraction villages

On the last 6th, in news published by Valor Econômico newspaper, Eneva is going to build a thermoelectric power plant in the interior of the state of Amazonas. The company purchasing Campo de Azulão for natural gas exploration, in Silves, in the state of Amazonas, foresees an investment of R$ 100 to R$ 120 million and the construction of the new plant should be ready by next year. As a result, the thermoelectric plant will be built near Azulão, where Eneva will drill for new gas extraction villages. Other Eneva projects

According to the company's director of operations, Lino Cançado says that “We have been working with other projects on land and also with gas from LNG and pre-salt. We have the competence to put projects on their feet, do basic engineering, market research, auction participation and implementation and operation and maintenance (O&M). It is only natural that we have the ambition to participate in this”.

In Parnaíba, where the company has an installed capacity to generate 1,4 GW, Cançado stated that he intends to renew the contracts for the thermoelectric plants. On the other hand, he explained that he will not make new investments in the region. In the Paraná Basin, where the company acquired four blocks in 2020, operations have yet to start. The contract, however, provides for activities until 2029 for the minimum exploratory program in the region.

Thus, Cançado pointed out that the company is in no hurry in the regions of Juruá, in the Solimões Basin. At this location, the first objective is to define a solution for gas monetization.

Recently, the company signed a contract with Constellation to drill seven wells in the Azulão field, located in the Amazon Basin

On July 23, Eneva, a national leader in energy generation, production and exploration of natural gas, signed a contract with Constellation Oil Services for the drilling of seven wells in the Azulão field, located in the Amazon basin. The deal between the two companies was signed and the operation will start up to September 15th.

The Constellation rig hired for the Eneva campaign, expected to take up to 290 days, is the QG VIII, capable of drilling wells up to 4.500 meters deep. The rig is equipped with a complete VFD control system and has 1600 HP of lifting power, which increases the efficiency of operations. QG VIII has previously operated for Eneva in the same field, having successfully drilled three wells in 2019. The current contract demonstrates the continuity of a successful partnership in the region. Constellation currently has nine onshore and eight offshore drilling rigs.

According to Petrobras' report, the "signature of the sales contracts is subject to the success of the negotiations, which involve commercial and contractual aspects of the transaction to be approved by the decision-making bodies of both parties."
