Energy company Eneva integrates Focus Energia, with the aim of accelerating the growth of generation and distribution of energy from renewable sources in Brazil    

In a public announcement this past Wednesday, the 15th, Eneva spoke about the incorporation of the company Focus Energia. This merger is nothing more than a 'possession', where Eneva will assume Focus Energia's client portfolio, in addition to the company's entire portfolio of renewable projects, which add up to a total of 3,7 gigawatt-peak (GWp ), of already installed power. The negotiation was made around R$ 960 million. In an interview about this great news, Eneva reported that the idea is to diversify energy sources, as well as business models, in a strategic lineage of growth and energy transition, obtaining increasingly clean, economical and efficient energy, according to executives at company.

Eneva reported that Focus Energia operates in three lines of business: the sale of electricity, power generation and distributed generation. Focus Energia's entire generation portfolio comprises two operating assets and a central and distributed generation pipeline, which are located in the states of Minas Gerais, Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul.

Among the company's best projects is Parque Futura 1, 2 and 3, designed for the state of Bahia. When commissioned, the Futura 1 project will be the largest solar energy generation complex in Brazil, with an installed capacity of approximately 670 MW, according to information provided by Eneva.

According to Pedro Zinner, president of Eneva, when evaluating Focus Energia's merger procedures, it was categorized as a great opportunity to obtain a very attractive return, in addition to promoting a combination of complementary business lineages between the two companies - which now , are one.

Zinner pointed out that Eneva believes that this opportunity will accelerate the implementation of the company's strategy of solving common problems in the field of energy distribution more quickly and efficiently.

Future of Eneva and Focus Energia in the Brazilian renewable energy market

After the integration of Focus Energia, from now on the deal will be voted on at a general meeting at both companies and the entire operation will be submitted to the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE, according to Eneva's executive body.

The company also highlighted, during the statement, that Focus Energia started its operations as an energy distributor and generator in 2015 and that, in early 2021, it made its initial stock offering (IPO), with the main objective of finance your pipeline of renewable projects that are part of its portfolio.

The acquisition of Focus Energia by Eneva should greatly accelerate the progress of the projects already on the agenda and approved, which will serve to accompany the growth of the renewable energy sources market, with a forecast of more than 170% by the year 2030, according to research carried out by the Eneva's directory body.
