The workers were taken to a hospital in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes with serious injuries.
Two men were seriously injured this Friday afternoon (18) after a cylinder exploded at the Açu Logistic Complex, in São João da Barra, in the north of Fluminense. The victims work for a company that provides services to a company installed in the complex. The men were sent to the Ferreira Machado Hospital (HFM), in Campos dos Goytacazes, and according to the unit's press office, both underwent surgery.
Still according to the hospital, the 34-year-old patient arrived at the hospital with evisceration and the other, 24-year-old, underwent chest surgery. According to the Union of Port Workers of São João da Barra (Sindiport), a team from the union was at the company this Saturday morning and visited the accident site together with a Work Safety technician, who will prepare an independent assessment of the safety and emergency procedures adopted by the company after the accident.
