Workers Were Taken to a Hospital in Campos dos Goytacazes With Serious Injuries
Two men were seriously injured on the afternoon of this Friday (18) after the explosion of a cylinder at the Açu Logistics Complex in São João da Barra, in Northern Fluminense. The victims work for a company that provides services for a company located in the complex. The men were taken to Ferreira Machado Hospital (HFM) in Campos dos Goytacazes, and according to the hospital’s press office, both underwent surgery.
According to the hospital, the 34-year-old patient arrived at the hospital with evisceration, and the other, 24 years old, underwent thoracic surgery. According to the Port Workers Union of São João da Barra (Sindiport), a team from the union was at the company on the morning of this Saturday and visited the accident site along with an Occupational Safety technician, who will prepare an independent evaluation of the safety and emergency procedures adopted by the company after the accident.
