This pre-contract for the Hydrogen Hub is the result of the work it has been doing in recent months and will allow the company to continue advancing in pre-feasibility studies for the development of its projects. Therefore, Fortescue reaffirms its commitment to collaborate with communities.

Thus, in recent months, the company has begun to deepen its knowledge of the region, its biodiversity and its communities through environmental and social impact studies. Thus, with the pre-contract signed, the multinational plans to carry out studies and seek to identify viable opportunities for the generation of green hydrogen and make its best efforts to contribute with local universities to create research programs to promote technologies related to fuel .

Green hydrogen is the future of fuels

Green Hydrogen is shown to be the cleanest energy for reducing the emission of polluting gases and, thus, guaranteeing a sustainable future for the planet.

According to the “Scaling Up” study by the Hydrogen Council, by 2050, H₂V will represent about 18% of all energy consumed worldwide. Therefore, the Government of Ceará developed the Green Hydrogen Hub in February last year, in partnership with FIEC, UFC, and the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém.

So far, 18 memorandums of cooperation have been signed, all with the aim of producing and exporting green hydrogen.
