About the Port of Aratu

Inaugurated in 1975, the Aratu-Candeias port complex is the port unit in the Complexo da Bahia with the greatest movement of cargo.

It is one of the most important outlets for chemical and petrochemical production across the country.

Its area of ​​influence extends to Sergipe, Alagoas, West Pernambuco and East Minas Gerais, operating with four terminals for handling solid bulk, liquid and gaseous products. This structure allows Aratu-Candeias to operate with a wide variety of products, moving ore and chemical products simultaneously.
