The 19th edition of Intermodal South America begins on the 25th, an international logistics, cargo transport and foreign trade fair, considered by industry executives as a strategic platform for generating new business.

In this 25th edition Intermodal marks its 25 years of existence, once again at São Paulo Expo, in the city of São Paulo. There will be three days of the event, from the 19th to the 21st of March. The Brazilian Association of Port Terminals (ABTP) will discuss one of the entity's main claims next Tuesday (19). The event also brings together the main protagonists of the international and national market, promoting business and partnerships, functioning as a platform for launches, brand reinforcement, joint ventures, content, sales and networking.

Jesualdo Silva, CEO of ABTP, said “We can say that the Government is aware of our demands and how decisive our sector is for the resumption of economic growth in the country”, the executive has just taken office, the same will be at the ceremony opening ceremony of the event, at 10:30 am, on March 19, and at the debate table of the XXII National Logistics Conference, at 17:45 pm.

On the same date, the president of ABTP's Deliberative Council, Antônio Carlos Sepúlveda, will endorse the Association's speech for the "Modernization of the port management model", title of the panel that will be held at 15 pm, during the XXI National Logistics Conference ( CNL), which is part of Intermodal's programming.

The theme of the panel, which stands out among the proposals delivered by ABTP to the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, is associated with other propositions in the sector.

Aware of the specificities and complexities of the various Brazilian ports, ABTP understands that there is no single solution that will apply to all. In some cases, delegation, concession in part or in full or even privatization may apply. However, it understands that, in any case, the immediate decentralization of functions is necessary under the terms of Ordinance 574/2018 and professionalization of management, such as, for example, the review of the Board of Directors, with professionals from the market and specialists in the area.

In 2018, the 24th edition of Intermodal received around 32 professionals in the three-day event at São Paulo Expo, who were able to check out the news from more than 400 national and international brands and participate in the XXI National Logistics Conference, organized by the Brazilian Association of Logística (Abralog), which presented high-level content.

Formed mostly by executives and professionals with decision-making power, Intermodal South America's audience comes to the event in search of innovation and business opportunities.

With a focus on networking, Juan Carlos Navarro director of Transmares Group, which provides shipping agency services in Costa Rica and Colombia, went to the Intermodal 2018 edition to make contacts. “At the fair we were able to meet people from several countries, learn about the services offered and seek new clients,” he explained.

In the expectations of Brazilians, 2019 will be a good year for the economy. Different sectors hope to resume business consistently and definitely overcome the crisis that has affected Brazil in recent years. The point is that it is not enough to wait for the indicators to take off. There is no magic. You must be prepared to conquer a prominent place in the business scenario.
