MInfra signs new exploration contracts at terminals in Pará

In two years, MInfra signed 78 adhesion contracts with companies, which represent BRL 6 billion in investments in terminals in Pará. New investments in the North region of the country with the signing of four new adhesion contracts for the exploitation of Private Use Terminals (TUPs) in the state of Pará. They are: Petróleo Sabbá, Louis Dreyfus, Cargill and Administrator of Infrastructure Goods (ABI). Together, the terminals will receive investments of R$ 616,5 million for the handling of various cargoes, such as grains and fuel.

The signing of the contracts took place this Wednesday (10) by the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), through the National Secretariat of Ports and Waterway Transport.

Minister of MInfra highlights the importance of investments in terminals in Pará

The Minister of Infrastructure (MInfra), Tarcísio de Freitas, highlighted the importance of investment in the North region of the country. “This interest in doing business in that region, mainly with port terminals, shows that we are on the right path”, he emphasized. “These are important investments for logistics and important investments for several family fathers who will be employed now, from the moment this journey begins to take shape”, he added. With the new contracts, the Government expects to further expand the handling of solid and liquid bulk.

According to the folder, in two years, the Federal Government signed 78 adhesion contracts with companies, which represent R$ 6 billion in investments in the modal.

Terminals

The Cargill and Louis Dreyfus terminals are on the agricultural bulk export route through Arco Norte and are responsible for handling solid bulk, mainly vegetables.

According to data from the National Supply Company (Conab), from January to August last year, around 34% of the soy sold to the foreign market was shipped through the ports of Arco Norte.

The other two terminals, Petróleo Sabbá and ABI, have as areas of influence the cities of Itaituba and Santarém. In these locations, bulk liquid fuels will be handled, which are intended for the storage, distribution and regional supply of fuels.
