A value of R$ 5,24 million transferred by Vale to the State of Minas Gerais, will be used to reinforce the fight against COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
In March 2019, the company transferred the resource to the State, for the preparation of a study on the risks of waste to human health. However, after joint evaluations, the company itself took charge of carrying out this study, which is still in progress. The amount previously made available, therefore, will be used for renovation, improvement of infrastructure and expansion in the number of ICU beds at Hospital Eduardo de Menezes, in Belo Horizonte.
