The potential for wind power generation in Brazil is growing day by day. This week the company Vestas received in Ceará an order for 49 wind turbines from the French multinational Quadran International through its subsidiary Quadran Brasil.

This week the news came out that the company Vestas in Ceará received an order for wind turbines for the 206 MW Serrote wind farm, located in the State of Ceará, in the municipality of Trairí. There were a total of 49 wind turbines, and their contract includes the supply and installation of V150-4.2 MW wind turbines with a cube height of 125 meters.

According to the CEO of Quadran Brasil, Armando Abreu, the company is delighted with this event.

“We are very satisfied with the success of the negotiations for the use of V150-4.2 MW wind turbines in our first project in Brazil. We believe that this partnership will add a lot of value, quality and safety to our projects. I would like to thank Vestas for the collaborative spirit shown in this contract and I look forward to continuing to work together on our next initiatives.”

The towers, the 49 nacelles and the blades that will produce the Serrote wind farm will be produced locally in accordance with the rules of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).

“I would like to thank Quadran Brasil for the trust placed in Vestas. The project will certainly benefit from the performance of our main wind turbine Onshore, as well as the proximity of our assembly facilities in Aquiraz,” said Rogério S. Zampronha, President of Vestas in Brazil and LATAM South.

As soon as the company Vestas announced the expansion of its production capacity in 2018, it already accumulated 819 MW in orders for its market-leading wind turbine Onshore, to V150-4.2 MW.

In 2020, the delivery of the turbines should begin and their commissioning in 2021.
