P71 modules sink

FPSO is not in Petrobras' Business Plan for the period 2019-2023, which gives some slack

The lesser of the two evils, not that the partial sinking of the P-71 modules did not cause damage to Petrobras, but perhaps the cost of each module, around US$ 45 million each, was the total loss for the company.
As Click Petróleo e Gás reported, a shipwreck off the coast of Santa Catarina, occurred last Saturday night (18/05), when the convoy driven by the tugboat TS Favorito from Tranship, had its barge partially wrecked when it was about 120 km off the coast of Itajaí and allowed the two modules to fall into the sea.

The shipwreck that, according to initial information, made the power generation modules (M-15 and M-16) of FPSO P71 unusable, occurred when, in adverse sea conditions, the barge belonging to the company Locar, was sailing to the Jurong Shipyard, in Aracruz (ES).

2019-2023 business plan

According to Petrobras Business Plan 2019-2023 published at the end of last year, the P71 precisely because of delays in the works, is not part of this company's business horizon.
There are two factors that make Petrobras believe in a minimal impact on the FPSO's first oil schedule.
The first of them is the non-inclusion of the unit in the company's current business plan, which would give a break for the reconstruction of the generation modules.

The other reason would be the fact that Siemens, manufacturer of the generating turbines, has in its possession two more identical pieces of equipment for immediate delivery, in the Netherlands, to supply the Brazilian oil company.

The FPSO P71 is part of the set of hulls called replicants and was initially built at the Rio Grande Shipyard, in Rio Grande do Sul, but Petrobras canceled the contracts, after reports of corruption due to the car wash operation.
Today, the P71 is being rebuilt in China and the plan is that it will come to the Jurong in 2020 so that the modules can be integrated into the hull.
