Petrobras: Hiring platform support vessels boosts the vessel market

Brazilian state-owned giant in the oil and gas sector, Petrobras is looking for 9 platforms support vessels to develop new research projects and other activities.

Petrobras, a leading company in the energy sector in Brazil, is looking for nine new platform support vessels. This initiative promises to move the vessel market, bringing opportunities for companies in the sector. The public notice for contracting these vessels, called PSV (Plataform Supply Vessel — Offshore Supply Vessel), was launched last Wednesday, the 24th, and the deadline for the presentation of proposals by the competitors ends on the 15th of June .

Forecast for entry into operation of support vessels

As provided for in the public notice, Petrobras established the month of December of this year as the maximum period for entry into operation of the vessels, or up to 120 days after the signature of the contract, whichever is the most distant.

The state-owned company will give priority to proposals for multipurpose PSV vessels flying the Brazilian flag, provided they are able to be mobilized within 60 days.

These vessels will be used to support hydrocarbon research and extraction activities, as well as other operations carried out by Petrobras.
