Petrobras has already carried out more than 15 tests for Covid-19 on employees

Petrobras informs that around 26 tests have already been carried out, with more than 20 being applied for screening purposes.

The state-owned company informs that around 26 thousand tests have already been carried out, of which more than 20 thousand were applied for the purpose of screening.

With the new measure, Petrobras is able to identify people without any symptoms, but with the presence of antibodies that may indicate an active virus and the possibility of contagion, preventing contagion within its units.

“From the result, these employees cannot access the operational areas, they are instructed to comply with isolation and are now monitored by the health teams.” informed Petrobras.

Screening testing covers employees of contracted companies who have symptoms, a measure that Petrobras was one of the first companies to adopt on a large scale

According to Petrobras, more than 6 tests were performed to diagnose people with symptoms. With screening tests and diagnostic tests, Petrobras has already covered around 18% of the universe of around 150 people who work at its units, whether employees or collaborators of service providers.

Compared to countries that adopted mass testing, the company tested proportionally three times more than the US and almost twice as much as Portugal.
