The P-76 of the Brazilian state-owned giant Petrobras, finally enters into operation in the pre-salt development in the Santos Basin along with its sisters P-74 and P-75
A Petrobras started production of a third large floating production, storage and offloading vessel in the giant field of Búzios, in the pre-salt province of the Santos Basin. The production of FPSO P-76 started this Wednesday at depths of 2030 meters, according to Petrobras. The float, which has the capacity to process 150 barrels per day of oil and 7 million cubic meters per day of natural gas, will be connected to 10 oil producing wells and seven injection wells.
The P-76 hull was converted in China, while Argentine contractor Techint carried out the fabrication and integration of most of the topside modules at its shipyard in Pontal do Paraná, with a high local content of 70%.

The P-76 becomes the third FPSO to start operating in Búzios, following the P-74 in April 2018 and the P-75 in November 2018. A fourth unit, the P-77, is destined to produce the first Buzios oil. year.
A Petrobras is in the process of chartering a fifth large unit to Búzios, and recently started talks with Japan's Modec after Belgium's Exmar faced difficulties securing funding for the floating.
