With the deliberation of this license, Petrobras will be able to receive larger vessels and even operate in pre-salt areas from Macaé, making the city return to the dispute of the national oil and gas market
Currently, the Port of Imbetiba, in the city of Macaé, is operated by Petrobras, which operates at a draft in the range of 6 to 7 meters deep, which provides conditions for some vessels to operate and dock. With the Environmental License granted this week, the state-owned company will be able to raise this depth to 9,5 meters, giving new operational possibilities to the port. New larger vessels will also be able to operate in the region after the undertaking is concluded.
Understand, this is a demand from Petrobras itself so that more vessels dock at the Port of Imbetiba, consequently bringing more development and inflow of resources to Macaé.
The state-owned company shows clear indications that it wants to act more strongly in the offshore field and the cities that make up these producing regions are still in the eye of Petrobras' hurricane, cAs reported by the state-owned company in March and which you can check in the article here.
The port will also support pre-salt operations as of 2019, making Macaé return to the dispute in the national oil and gas market. Everything indicates that, based on Petrobras' operations, there will be a greater concentration of vessels and maritime logistics.
Port of Barreto and the temporary embargo
Terpor (Port Terminal of Macaé) suffered an embargo from an environmental organization from São Paulo against the construction of the port in the city, an undertaking that would generate more than 10 thousand jobs in the city and would start until the second half of 2019, understand more by accessing the article here, take advantage and sign the petition too to reinforce the fight.
