Three of them are located in Camaçari, in the state of Bahia (Polo Camaçari UTEs). The other plant uses bifuel (diesel oil or natural gas) and is located in Canoas, in Rio Grande do Sul (UTE Canoas).

“Those qualified for the binding phase will receive an invitation letter with detailed instructions on the divestment process, including guidelines for carrying out due diligence and for sending binding proposals”, says the company in a statement.

“The present disclosure is in accordance with Petrobras' divestment guidelines and as a special regime for the divestment of assets by federal mixed-capital companies”, adds the company.

“These operations are in line with the strategy of optimizing the portfolio and improving the allocation of the company's capital. companhia, aiming at maximizing value for its shareholders”, completes the note.

The thermoelectric plants

The Polo Camaçari UTEs are Petrobras assets and include the Arembepe, Bahia 1 and Muricy plants, with a total installed capacity of 329 MW.

The plants operate with fuel oil and have the possibility of conversion to natural gas operation.

UTE Canoas is a Petrobras asset and has an installed capacity of 249 MW.

“As the plant is bi-fuel, it therefore has potential operational gain with the expected expansion of the gas pipeline network and/or new regasification terminals”, adds the state-owned company.
