Maintenance will be carried out on large machines at Petrobras refineries and will take place during planned shutdowns of process units

Petrobras has just introduced a new tender on the market, which has attracted the attention of service providers. This is a public notice for contracting maintenance on large machines located in five of the oil company's refineries, established in the Southeast region. The hiring processes will be nationwide, and the opening of envelopes with service proposals is initially scheduled for June 23 of this year. The refineries in question correspond to: Henrique Lage (Revap), Paulínia (Replan), Capuava (Recap) and Presidente Bernardes (RPBC), in the state of São Paulo, in addition to Duque de Caxias (Reduc), in the Rio de Janeiro.

Equipment maintenance will be carried out amid scheduled and planned stoppages of process units in each of the state's five refineries in the Southeast region. The range of work includes activities involving equipment such as centrifugal compressors, generators, steam turbines, air blowers, electric motors, turbo generators, turbo expanders, reducers and/or speed multipliers.

Maintenance activities are expected to start later this year, but should happen on a larger scale next year

According to the announcement published, the schedule of maintenance activities will start from the scheduled shutdown of Revap's hydrotreatment unit, later this year. It is scheduled to start on the 7th of November, while the end is scheduled for the 26th of the same month. Still in 2022, Petrobras – which recently signed an agreement with Saipem and Shelll – will also perform maintenance on the cracking, coke and hydrotreatment units at RPBC, between November and the beginning of January of next year. At Replan, in turn, it is expected that there will be a stoppage in the cracking unit, still in the month of November.

Petrobras' calendar continues with several other scheduled stoppages at the company's refineries, in the Southeast region, between 2023 and 2026. The expectation is that the largest volume of work will take place next year. The public notice and all documents corresponding to the competition (n° 7003853370) are available on the Petronect website – the company responsible for Petrobras' electronic commerce.

While refineries in the Southeast receive billionaire investments, which reach the value of US$ 6,1 billion, other refining parks of the company are sold by it

According to Petrobras, the capital contributed to its refining park over the next five years will be equivalent to the sum of US$ 6,1 billion. The company claims that the investments will be aimed at expanding its refining capacity, generating higher quality products and positioning its refineries among the best in the world in terms of efficiency and operational performance. Of the total contribution, approximately US$ 1,5 billion will be allocated to the Reduc refinery with the Polo GasLub Itaboraí (former Petrochemical Complex), aiming at the production of derivatives and base oils, in order to take advantage of the demand of the lubricants market.

At the same time that investments are being made in the refineries in the Southeast region, Petrobras has just made another divestment in its refining park. The state-owned company recently signed the sale of the refinery Lubrificantes e Derivados de Petróleo do Nordeste (LUBNOR) to Grepar Participações, for a total transaction value of US$ 34 million. So far, in addition to LUBNOR, Petrobras has also sold three of its refineries, namely: Landulpho Alves (RLAM), the Shale Industrialization Unit (SIX) and Isaac Sabbá (Reman).
