Construction work on the new port, in Presidente Kennedy, Espírito Santo, is expected to start next year
Brazilian concrete and cement producer Polimix is planning to start construction of the Porto Central multifunctional port complex, located in the municipality of Presidente Kennedy, Espírito Santo. The new port is expected to start operating in 2024, said the president of Porto Central, José Maria Vieira de Novaes, to Valor Econômico newspaper. The beginning of the construction of the port, in Espírito Santo
According to the CEO of Porto Central, José Maria Vieira Novaes, the deadline for completing the works in the liquid bulk sector, the first phase of Porto Central, is three years. Soon, the operating capacity will be 1,2 million barrels of oil per day. He hopes that in 2024 the operation of Porto Central will start.
For this purpose, some stages have been built, such as the four contracts with refineries, including Petrobras, signed on July 13th. These agreements are important investments for the work to happen, according to Novaes. Also according to the CEO, contracts with other companies, whose names cannot be disclosed, will operate between 250 and 300 barrels/day.
At least the necessary bureaucracy has already been fulfilled by Porto Central: installation license, granted in 2018, there is also authorization for vegetation suppression in the area, from the Navy, in addition to licenses from Antaq. José Maria Vieira de Novaes estimates that investments in construction in Porto Central, in the state of Espírito Santo, exceed US$ 2 billion.

A Immediate Logística Porto received authorization to install the port terminal in an area in Aracruz, Espírito Santo. Even without defining a date for the beginning of the works, the company informed that the construction should create around 650 direct jobs, destined primarily to workers from Aracruz and region, in addition to 300 indirect ones.
In the port terminal, investments of R$ 1 billion are estimated for the conclusion of the construction. According to the company, the works will take place in two stages, with the forecast for completion of the first stage, which includes the movement of containers and general cargo, in three years.
The port of Imetame, in Espírito Santo, will use an area of 1.032.639,20 m², located on the Tancredo Neves Highway (ES-010), in Barra do Riacho. The company will pay the Federal Government the amount of R$ 4.127.665,41 annually, divided into 12 monthly installments, with readjustments every 12 months, based on the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA).
