Seeking more weather intelligence and forecasts regarding navigation in the complex, the Port of Pecém signed a partnership with the company i4sea to use the i4cast software to support maneuvers and decision-making in port operations.

The Port of Pecém, located in the state of Ceará, continues to invest in technological intelligence, and this Wednesday, (27/07), it has a new partnership. Now with technology company i4sea to provide i4cast decision-making software. In this way, there will be greater intelligence regarding the climate in the region and navigation forecasts so that the port operations handling operations become even more efficient, thanks to this support.

Company i4sea will provide i4cast software to ensure more security and efficiency in decision-making in port operations at Porto do Pecém, Ceará

The need for investments in technology for the modernization of the port sector continues to be one of the main focuses of national complexes and the Port of Pecém has just taken another step in this segment by signing a partnership with the company i4sea.

The company will provide its software for decision-making and navigation maneuvers, i4cast, so that port cargo handling operations become even safer, more efficient and faster in the Ceará complex.

Bruno Balbi, co-founder of i4sea, commented on the agreement signed with the Port of Pecém for the supply of the software and said that the company started the partnership with a focus on operational safety in navigation and intends to expand contracts with other port authorities, such as Santos Brasil and Porto do Açu. The main use of the i4cast software in the Ceará complex will be to support decision-making regarding maneuvers in port operations.

This is because, with the increase in the draft of the Port of Pecém, the site receives even larger vessels for port cargo handling operations, requiring more safety for navigation.

Thus, the weather intelligence services and navigation forecasts provided by the software will enable even more assertive decision-making regarding vessel maneuvers.

In addition, there will also be a strong improvement in the response in events of contaminant leakage and efficient programming of maintenance and deepening dredging, contributing to a faster and more efficient action in these moments.

i4cast will increase climate predictability in the complex's navigations and the partnership with i4sea will allow for an expansion in large port operations

The i4cast software from the company i4sea is a fully customizable platform adaptable to the needs of each client and will be essential for maneuvers with large ships in port operations at the Port of Pecém to become safer and more efficient.

“With the implementation of the dynamic draft, the Port of Pecém will maximize the berthing/unberthing operation of ships in relation to the tide. In other words, we will optimize operational efficiency by reducing the docking and waiting time for vessels. Thus, we will have greater availability, improving the occupancy rate of the berths, ensuring the reduction of risks and increasing the safety of maneuvers. It is a breakthrough in our operation that arrives to celebrate the 20 years of the port terminal of Pecém”, highlighted Waldir Sampaio, operations director of the Port of Pecém.

Among the main software tools to be used in port operations at the Port of Pecém, the main ones are the i4cast® Dynamic UKC Charts, which analyzes and forecasts the Below Keel Dynamic Clearance (FDAQ); Forecast Charts, which deals with sea conditions for navigation and Analytics, a tool that displays environmental, operational and validation analyzes that are customizable and in real time.
