Creation of 300 jobs and R$ 50 billion in investments in the area of solar energy is forecast by ABSOLAR for 2023

The Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) projects significant and consistent growth in solar energy next year. According to the association, the photovoltaic solar source should generate more than 300 new jobs in 2023 in Brazil, which will make the investments generated by the sector exceed R$50 billion. Those information was disclosed at the ABSOLAR National Meeting, a congress of the Brazilian solar field held annually.

Why do solar energy projections point to such a huge increase in jobs and investment?

Among the reasons for the predicted growth of solar energy in 2023, the increase in the electricity bill and the benefits that this source of energy generates for all Brazilian consumers stand out. According to the chairman of ABSOLAR's board of directors, Ronaldo Koloszuk, photovoltaic technology has been increasingly used in the country, being able to extend to all consumer classes and cause a positive multiplier effect in society.

Solar energy innovations and prospects

It is not just in terms of employability that solar energy guarantees to put on a show. That year, we will have a total of 23 MW of total installed power, according to information from ABSOLUTE. However, in 2023 10 gigawatts (GW) of installed power will be added, being able to accumulate more than 34 GW. Therefore, an increase greater than 52% can be observed over the current solar power in Brazil.

By the end of 2013, perspectives are that solar energy will be responsible for the creation of 1 million jobs in Brazil, starting in 2012. These jobs are spread across all productive links in the sector. Regarding accumulated investments, it is estimated that the amount will reach R$ 170,9 billion, with more than R$ 53,8 billion in public tax collection.
