The Minister of Infrastructure announced that the government foresees investments in works and projects in the sector, with the generation of many jobs

Yesterday (28/04), during the inauguration of Avenida Portuária in Rio de Janeiro, infrastructure minister Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas informed that the federal government plans to invest R$ 260 billion in infrastructure works and projects by the end of next year. According to the minister, there is an estimate of creating more than 1 million jobs with concessions to the private sector.

Investments in infrastructure works and job creation

According to the infrastructure minister, the government's concessions program is a great success, as it allows high investments to be made and covers the lack of resources. He pointed out that the possible investment of BRL 260 billion in infrastructure works and projects will be used to transfer assets to the private sector, which, according to the minister, will generate greater economic repercussions in the future.

Tarcísio also says that the generation of jobs will be very large with the contributions to be made in government infrastructure works and projects. He also points out that with the execution of works and projects, around 1 million jobs can be generated, both directly and indirectly.

Segments that can attract investments in the infrastructure sector

The Government's concession projects include major highways in the country, located in several states. The infrastructure minister mentions the BR-153 auction, located in the state of Tocantins and which should attract R$ 14 billion. He also mentions the bid for the BR-163, which is in the state of Pará. Tarcísio also mentions the bidding process for the Presidente Dutra Highway, bidding between BR-381 and BR-262, both located respectively in the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.

The infrastructure minister also informed that the Government has concession plans in the port sector, namely: the salt terminal in Rio Grande do Norte, the general cargo terminal in Macapá, and the wheat terminal in Mucuripe, in the state of Ceará.

It is also in the Government's plans to continue the concession of airports to the private sector, starting with the airport of São Gonçalo do Amarante, which will undergo a new tender.

Next year, the Viracopos airport in Campinas, and another 16 Infraero airports will be divided into three blocks. The North block, led by Belém airport, the Rio de Janeiro-Minas block, led by Santos Dumont Airport, and the São Paulo-Mato Grosso do Sul block, led by Congonhas Airport, said the infrastructure minister.

Works to improve access for trucks in Rio de Janeiro are inaugurated

With the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, the executive secretary of the MInfra, Marcelo Sampaio, and other authorities, was inaugurated yesterday, April 28, the Port Avenue work which provides road access for trucks between Avenida Brasil and Porto in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The infrastructure works, which had their construction carried out together with the connecting loop of the Rio-Niterói Bridge to the Red Line – which was inaugurated a year ago – had investments of R$ 450 million, which generated around 1,5 thousand jobs, directly as well as indirectly. The two developments are the main projects under the current Ponte concession contract.
