Porto Alegre Could Be The First City In Latin America To Receive The Hyperloop’s High-Speed Train System, Which Promises To Reach Speeds Of Up To 1,200 Km/h Using Solar Energy
The Hyperloop project involving solar-powered trains, which was presented at the end of January, is part of an agreement between the government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, which recently revealed the first model to be implemented as part of the project.

About The Project
The HyperloopTT project presents an integrated system for the circulation of capsules and passengers. Using solar-powered high-speed trains, it aims to create regional connectivity by offering efficient transportation that can handle a large flow of people.
By combining an electric motor and magnetic levitation to allow for a nearly silent journey, Hyperloop systems could transport more people than a tube at air speeds with zero direct emissions.

The company claims that the 100% electric project, which aims to be safety certified by 2025 and begin commercial operations by 2030, can support the EU Green Deal’s goal.
Hyperloop – An Ambitious And Innovative Project Using Solar Energy
Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, said: “The Hyperloop Certification Center is the beginning of the hyperloop journey to West Virginia, to the US, and to the world. We are one step closer to making hyperloop travel a reality for people everywhere.”
Jay Walder, CEO of Virgin Hyperloop, commented: “Our goal is to bring authorities from around the world together to define global safety and industry standards for this new mode of zero-emission ultrafast transportation.”
The Hyperloop trains, which promise to take people from London to Scotland in 45 minutes, are one of the proposals. The Hyperloop is a sealed tube with reduced air resistance through which a pod, or vehicle, would travel at very high speeds.
Aerodynamic drag slows the journey, so, to speed things up, the amount of air must be reduced, and that is why Hyperloop tubes are evacuated. Engineers from Tesla and Elon Musk’s SpaceX have been working on prototypes in recent years.
