Vibra Energia is making new investments with a focus on expanding its operations in the renewable energy and clean fuels market.

In Brazil, there are more than 40 gas stations spread across the country and the existence of these establishments does not seem to fit with the technologies of the near future, where consumers themselves will have autonomy to refuel their vehicles at service points. renewable energy like malls, in your office garage or even at home. For Vibra Energia, responsible for more than 8 service stations, the result is investments in energy and clean fuels at common service stations.

A large part of Vibra Energia's revenue comes from the old service station network

The company's investment plan is not as simple as placing electric charging points at service stations, despite the fact that this is already being done at 300 BR electrostations spread across eight states in the country. The purpose of Vibra Energia, the name given to the former BR Distribuidora after privatization, is to be a multi-energy platform. Currently, around R$6 for every R$10 billed by the former BR comes from the service station network.

The remainder comes from the direct sale of fuel to companies. The new business front has an even smaller fraction. However, the company's expectation is that, in the near future, the participation of the latter group will increase. According to Vibra's CFO, André Natal, in an interview, the fuel business will continue to be important, but the company is seeking to make its own transition to clean fuels.

Through partnerships and purchases, the former BR Distributor made investments in ethanol, biofuels and renewable energy. First of all, it should be stated that the plan is not only linked to the commitment to a more sustainable future.

Investments in renewable energy and clean fuels will increase Ebitda

Vibra Energia understands that customers who currently buy fuel will be the same ones who will need other renewable energy sources in the near future, and meeting this decades-old demand will be essential for results to be kept up to date. According to company calculations, investments made in new businesses will increase Ebitda by 50% by 2027.

A big important step for the journey was made last year, with the purchase of 50% of Comerc for R$ 3,25 billion.

A Trade is one of the largest sellers of energy in the free market, therefore, it is a supplier of renewable energy for companies. A large part of this electricity is generated by solar and wind energy projects developed by the trading company itself.

Vibra signs partnership with Copersucar

According to Wilson Ferreira Junior, CEO of Vibra Energia, the partnership strengthens the company's position as a multi-energy platform. The free market tends to expand the most and Comerc has the competitive advantage of selling renewable energy.

The executive should remain in charge of Vibra Energia until the month of September, when he will assume the presidency of Eletrobras. Under the command of Ferreira Junior, the company also developed a joint venture with Copersucar for the sale of clean fuels, such as ethanol. Before, the BR stations were supplied by the product that was purchased directly by the mills.

Currently, all the ethanol generated by Copersucar goes to the joint venture with Vibra, the objective is, soon, not only to supply the network's service stations, but also to other customers. Despite the fact that Vibra is already familiar with ethanol, due to experience with the gas stations, the objective now is to deal with the purchase of 50% of ZEG Biogáss, a company that produces and sells biofuels.
