The special operation received wind equipment from China, using cranes and special trailers

The Port of Imbituba was the scene of the disembarkation of wind equipment last week. The import arrived from China on the ship “DA GUI”, which docked at Pier 2 on the night of the 17th and already left the dock in the afternoon of the following day.

The technical team of port workers carried out the movement of 3 blades of approximately 67 meters in length and five parts of the tower that, when assembled, will form the wind turbine. Three components (“hub”, “nacelle” and “drivetrain”) and a container with equipment for assembling wind turbines were also unloaded.

According to portos&navios, handling large project loads is a know-how that has been explored by the public port. At the beginning of the year, transformers and large generators were also shipped.

For unloading, cranes from the ship itself were used, in addition to special trailers for moving the parts to the storage yard. The port operation was carried out by the operators Simetria Logística and Santos Brasil, lessee of the General Cargo Terminal at the Port of Imbituba.

The equipment will be transported to the Honda Energy Wind Farm in the city of Xangri-Lá (RS), where there are already nine wind turbines. Inaugurated in 2014 by the subsidiary of Honda Automóveis in Brazil, the park produces 100% clean and renewable energy that is distributed to the company's factory, offices and research and development center. Since its creation, the park has prevented the emission of more than 24 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
