City Hall Works in Tubarão Promise to Generate Jobs and Transform the City with Historic Investments in Infrastructure, Education, and Health to Boost Urban and Social Development.
The City Hall of Tubarão (SC) announced this Tuesday (22) the Works Program Pra Valer, considered the largest investment package ever launched in the municipality. The program plans to allocate R$ 100 million for structural works and improvements to urban quality of life. The resources will be directed to areas such as education, health, mobility, and urban infrastructure. The announcement was made by Mayor Estêner Soratto and the Deputy Mayor and Secretary of Administration and Finance, Denis Matiola, at an official ceremony held in the city. Among the planned works are the construction and renovation of daycare centers and schools, paving and revitalization of streets, and the expansion of health units.
Works Program Pra Valer Includes Bridge in the City Center, New Fleet, and Revitalizations
Among the highlights of the Works Program Pra Valer are the paving of the General Road of Barra do Norte, the construction of a new bridge in the city center, and the acquisition of new vehicles for essential services. The program also includes the modernization of health posts in Tubarão, which will undergo restructuring and expansion works.
According to the city hall, investments in Tubarão aim to transform the city in terms of mobility, infrastructure, and service to the population. The administration reported that the choice of works was based on historical demands from various regions of the municipality.
The new bridge will be built to ease vehicle flow in the central area. The paving of Barra do Norte aims to improve access to neighborhoods and communities that have been facing difficulties with dirt roads and flooding for years.
Financial Planning and Recovery of the Municipality’s Credibility Made the Works Possible
According to Mayor Estêner Soratto, the launch of the Works Program Pra Valer was only possible after an internal process of financial and administrative reorganization. The current administration claims to have carried out structural reforms that ensured greater efficiency in the public machine and eliminated pending issues that hindered access to state and federal resources.
The mayor emphasized that, with the recovery of negative certificates and the restructuring of the administration, the municipality regained credibility with the State Government and the parliamentary delegation of Santa Catarina. This recovery, according to him, allowed partnerships and amendments that are now converting into concrete investments in Tubarão.
The deputy mayor and secretary Denis Matiola emphasized that the success of the program is due to the reduction of commissioned positions, review of public contracts, and fiscal balance. He pointed out that these measures were crucial to free up budget space and restore the confidence of public investors.
Works in Daycare Centers, Schools, and Health Units Will Begin Still in 2025
According to the city hall, the first interventions planned in the Works Program Pra Valer will begin in the second half of 2025. The priority will be the construction of new daycare centers, renovation of existing schools, and the modernization of health posts in neighborhoods with higher population demand.
The administration’s goal is to increase the number of slots in early childhood education, reduce the need for travel between neighborhoods, and provide adequate infrastructure for basic health care. The works in daycare centers and schools in Tubarão include improvements in accessibility, air conditioning, safety, and school meals.
In the health sector, health posts in Tubarão will undergo expansion of clinics, restructuring of vaccination rooms, and renovation of service areas. The plan also includes the purchase of equipment to modernize clinical care and reduce waiting lines in municipal services.
Urban Mobility Will Receive a Significant Portion of the Investment
An impressive portion of the R$ 100 million from the Works Program Pra Valer will be allocated for the paving of streets and revitalization of strategic roads in the city. The city hall’s objective is to facilitate traffic between neighborhoods, improve public transportation, and reduce costs with road maintenance.
Works for drainage and rainwater runoff are also planned in regions with a history of flooding. The city hall reported that the interventions will take place in a staggered manner, according to the schedule prepared by the technical team of the Department of Infrastructure.
In addition to urban mobility, there will be investment in the purchase of utility vehicles to strengthen the city hall fleet in areas such as health, education, garbage collection, and public road maintenance.
With the Works Program Pra Valer, the city of Tubarão enters a new cycle of public works, after a period of containment and reorganization of accounts. The city hall highlighted that the planning continues to be guided by fiscal responsibility and transparency criteria.
The municipal official website provides the complete list of planned works in the program, along with information on schedules, bidding, and the progress of the interventions.
