The Renewable Projects in the State of Ceará Are: Green Hydrogen Production Plant with Electric Energy and an Offshore Wind Power Park
Through an online transmission made yesterday, the governor of the state of Ceará, Camilo Santana, signed a memorandum between the state and the multinational Qair Brasil for the development of renewable energy projects, including: a green hydrogen production plant powered by electricity generated through the Dragão do Mar Offshore Wind Complex and an offshore wind energy park. About 2,600 jobs could be generated. See also: One of the global leaders in the iron ore industry, an Australian mining company could invest in the state of Ceará, and jobs could be generated

Investments and Job Creation in the State of Ceará
The total investment expected from Qair Brasil in Ceará is US$ 6.95 billion, with the creation of 2,000 jobs during the construction of the plants and 600 direct jobs in the operation of renewable energy projects. Camilo Santana recalled that Ceará is a pioneer in the field of renewable energies, and according to him, they are talking about the fuel of the future, with the hydrolysis of water combined with solar energy, producing green hydrogen, a clean energy to be exported to Europe and other countries around the world.
The government of Ceará also emphasizes that renewable energy projects should replace fossil fuels in the future. Ceará got a head start and created a study group with Fiec to attract investments. The Qair project is an investment of nearly $7 billion, which will allow decentralization and will stimulate renewable energy production throughout Ceará’s interior, concludes Camilo.

The president of Qair Brasil, Armando Abreu, ensured that with the support of the Government of Ceará and institutions, all these planned investments will be realized. “It is indeed a very important moment for Qair; it is another step in the continuation of investments and the development strategy of Qair in Brazil, and in Ceará, where our headquarters in Brazil is located, and we will continue here and realize all these investments,” concludes Armando.
Renewable Energy Projects to Be Executed in the State
The Dragão do Mar Offshore Wind Complex, a project developed to generate electric energy for the electrolysis plant, will feature an offshore wind generation plant with an installed capacity of 1,216 GW, to be located on the continental shelf off the coast of Acaraú-Ceará.
The project will also include the development of an electrolysis plant with a capacity of 2,240 MW, for the production of Green Hydrogen of approximately 296,000 tons/year, located at the Green Hydrogen Hub, in the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex.
The multinational company based in Ceará is involved in the project, which will start producing, storing, transporting, and marketing green hydrogen from 2023. The objectives are to produce regional green hydrogen on a massive and industrial scale to achieve the best price; develop a service offering adapted to meet the needs of heavy mobility (trucks – boats – trains); develop a project in consultation with elected authorities, local populations, and local industrial stakeholders to ensure optimal success; promote a fully virtuous energy cycle: renewable energy / electricity and green hydrogen.
