SBM Offshore is chosen by Petrobras to build the largest platform in Brazil to be installed in the Búzios field

Brazilian state oil company Petrobras has started negotiations with supplier SBM Offshore to lease a floating FPSO-type platform for the giant Búzios field in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil, the state-owned company said in a statement this Tuesday (15).

The storage and production outflow unit (FPSO), which will be called Almirante Tamandaré, will be the sixth FPSO in Búzios and the largest in Brazil, according to Petrobras. The platform will have a production capacity of 225 barrels of oil and 12 million m3 of gas per day and will start producing in the second half of 2024.
