R$ 1 Billion Investment Promises to Revitalize Abreu e Lima Refinery
The Abreu e Lima Refinery, located in Pernambuco, is set to receive an investment of approximately R$ 1 billion, as announced by Deputy Lula Cabral (Solidarity). This financial injection into the Rnest (Abreu e Lima Refinery) aims to boost diesel production and revitalize the local economy, expanding Petrobras’s presence in the region.

Direct and Indirect Job Creation Heats Up Labor Market
With the investments in the Abreu e Lima Refinery, the expectation is that more than 10,000 direct jobs will be created in Pernambuco, along with approximately 50,000 indirect jobs, according to Lula Cabral (Solidarity).

State Deputy Jeferson Timóteo (PP) emphasized the importance of ensuring that local workers are prepared to fill available positions, highlighting the need for a public hearing to discuss the challenges of resuming the refinery’s operations.
Regional Development and Complementary Projects
In addition to the expansion of the Abreu e Lima Refinery, other projects are considered essential for the development of Pernambuco. Mário Ricardo (Republicans) mentioned the construction of the Metropolitan Arc, which aims to connect the north to the south of the State, as an equally important initiative.
Additionally, the completion of the Transnordestina works is seen as necessary to further boost the local economy.
Antonio Coelho (Union) celebrated the prospect of increasing the refining capacity of the Rnest and the signs of a healthier management of Petrobras, expressing optimism regarding the future of the sector.
