Its size is very well utilized. Despite having a low maximum speed of only 15 knots, its range can reach over 10,000 nautical miles, and its endurance at sea is 45 days. The MPSS also does not require a large crew, with plans to be operated by a crew of 48 people and with additional facilities for another 100 passengers and temporary accommodations for 42 more.
