Vertical Connect, a renowned air mobility startup from Ceará, revealed in recent days that it has entered into a partnership with the city of Itaitinga to install a factory dedicated to the production of flying cars of the Gênesis X1 model in the municipality. This initiative promises to boost the local economy, generating more than 200 jobs in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará.

The flying car model chosen to launch production is the Gênesis X1, a vehicle with capacity for two crew members and eight rotors.

The Gênesis-X1, popularly nicknamed the “flying car”, has characteristics similar to those of a helicopter, enabling vertical takeoff and landing.
A striking difference is its electric nature, eliminating the use of fossil fuels and strengthening the commitment to sustainability.
Details of the flying car with capacity for 2 crew
Developed by Vertical Connect in collaboration with federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (IFCE), the prototype of the flying car was presented at an event held in Fortaleza, in December 2023.
The dean of IFCE, Wally Menezes, and the CEO of Vertical Connect, Ruan Carlo Ferreira, were present, along with the dean of the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Anderson Correia.
During the presentation, aspects such as the structural set of propellers and engines, the design and flight characteristics of the X-1 model were highlighted.
In the coming months, the interior of the prototype is expected to be revealed, as well as the flight and avionics systems, essential for the effective operation of the eVTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing Vehicle). This phase will allow a comprehensive view of the project before it enters the production line.
