In Piauí, Maria Clara Dalcin and her sisters Letícia, Ana, and Bruna Moura Fé started businesses in childhood and adolescence, beginning at ages 9, 10, and 16, with support from Sebrae, to generate their own income and develop entrepreneurial skills, impacting local commerce and inspiring other families.

Children’s Day is usually marked by gifts and leisure moments. But in some places, the date also represents work, creativity, and income generation. More than that: a source of earnings that goes beyond this date and lasts all year long.

While many children wait to receive toys, others decided to create their own businesses. With family support and educational guidance, they turned dreams into companies that now drive local commerce.

What seemed like just a game became a life project. And the impact can already be seen on social media, in physical stores, and in the growth of the brands.

Maria Clara Started at 9 Years Selling Clothes on Instagram

In August 2020, at age 9, Maria Clara Dalcin, a resident of Piauí, decided to venture into entrepreneurship. Inspired by other children who were active on social media, she began selling women’s outfits on Instagram.

She took the photos herself, and with the help of her mother, Ynara Lima, she made the posts and attended to clients. Initially, sales were exclusively online.

The growth caught the family’s attention. In December 2021, the physical store Maria Clara Dalcin was opened in Bom Jesus, in the extreme south of Piauí.

Today, the business sells clothes for girls up to 18 years old. The company was born from the child’s dream, combined with the investment from her mother and aunt Letícia Dalcin, who are in charge of management.

Physical Store, Professional Growth, and Family Support

This decision to support the venture required dialogue at home. The parents needed to be assured that the activity would not hinder studies.

With organization and family support, a balance was maintained. While the brand grows in the local market, Maria Clara is also seeking her professional development.

Now, the family expects to expand the brand’s acceptance and strengthen its presence in the market. For the young entrepreneur, personal growth is as important as revenue.

Brownie BruLê Was Born from a Trip and Became a Reference in Teresina

Another notable story involves the sisters Letícia, Ana, and Bruna Moura Fé. They decided to venture into entrepreneurship while still in school, at ages 16, 10, and 19.

The idea emerged in 2012 while preparing for a family trip. The father covered the costs of tickets and accommodation but set a limited budget for shopping.

To raise more money, Letícia decided to sell something and invited her sisters to join. Thus, the brand Brownie BruLê was born, a name formed by the combination of Bruna and Letícia.

What started as a solution to increase the trip budget turned into a reference in the candy industry in Teresina.

Family Business Grows and Already Generates Jobs

Currently, Brownie BruLê operates in a structured and professional manner. Sales are still only online, but opening a physical store is in the plans.

The sisters’ mother is an employee of the company. During peak demand periods, aunts and cousins are also called for temporary work.

Today, Letícia is 28, Ana is 21, and Bruna is 31. Nevertheless, the brand continues to grow and expand its presence in the local market.

However, the impact goes beyond sales. This is because the family business has strengthened bonds and created new opportunities within the family itself.

Sebrae Strengthens Entrepreneurship in Schools with National Program

Behind these stories is a structured incentive. Currently, Sebrae (Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises) develops the National Program for Entrepreneurial Education to broaden the debate on entrepreneurship in Brazilian schools.

The proposal is not just to train future entrepreneurs. The goal is to stimulate entrepreneurial behavior, life planning, and autonomy.

The program is implemented through partnerships with educational institutions and education secretariats. Schools receive educational material free of charge.

Teachers undergo training and apply the methodology in the classroom, from basic education to higher education.

According to the superintendent director of Sebrae in Piauí, Júlio César Filho, encouraging entrepreneurship from an early age helps generate opportunities and transform realities.

Education and entrepreneurship, when they go hand in hand, broaden horizons and help young people face the challenges of adulthood with more preparation.

Stories like those of Maria Clara and the Moura Fé sisters show that age is not a barrier when there is encouragement, organization, and purpose. Child entrepreneurship is gaining ground and can redefine the future of many families in Brazil.
