Used Honda XRE 300: Costs About R$ 18 Thousand, Has 25.4 HP Engine, Does Up to 28 Km/L, and Became a Reference in Durability, Comfort, and Versatility in Brazil.
In a market where new 300 cc motorcycles easily surpass R$ 30 thousand, finding a robust, comfortable, and respected trail for under R$ 20 thousand seems increasingly rare. But there is one exception, and it goes by the name of Honda XRE 300, one of the most beloved motorcycles in Brazil and a true symbol of freedom on two wheels. The model manufactured between 2013 and 2018 has solidified its position as one of the best “mid-range” motorcycles the Brazilian market has ever known: simple enough to cover thousands of kilometers without a headache, modern enough to offer comfort and security, and strong enough to tackle city, road, and dirt with the same readiness.
For about R$ 18 thousand on average in the FIPE Table for versions between 2015 and 2018, it occupies a space that few motorcycles can fill: economical, brave, and capable of traveling anywhere in the country without fear.
An Urban Trail with an Adventurous Soul
The XRE 300 was created with a clear objective: to serve a Brazilian motorcyclist who needs a bike for everything.
-
A French brand placed a car on four huge red balloons to prove that its suspension made the vehicle “float,” and the surreal scene became one of the most iconic and unusual images in automotive history.
-
Jeep Avenger begins production in Brazil, debuting as the brand’s new entry-level SUV and inaugurating an unprecedented phase by becoming the first national Jeep manufactured outside of Goiana, as part of a R$ 3 billion plan.
-
Costing R$ 12,490, the new Shineray Urban Lite 150 “cheap one” arrives in Brazil with a CVT transmission, digital dashboard, and LED lights, making it more affordable than the Biz and targeting those who want to abandon the bus.
-
Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
Market statistics prove this. It’s common to see the model running as:
- daily-use motorcycle in metropolitan areas
- travel partner on long routes
- official motorcycle for public agencies and policing
- light trail and recreational off-road machine
Few Brazilian motorcycles have such a versatile and well-tested record in real life. And it delivers this versatility thanks to a simple yet efficient mechanical set:
- 291.6 cc engine (rated as 300 cc)
- 25.4 hp on gasoline / 25.6 hp on ethanol
- 5-speed gearbox
- Air cooling + oil radiator
- Electronic fuel injection
- Comfortable chassis and long suspensions
It’s the kind of project that prioritizes durability and continuous use, rather than just shine on paper specifications.
Consumption That Makes a Difference in the Pocket
In times of expensive fuel, one of the greatest attractions of the XRE 300 is its fuel consumption. Even with an engine over 25 hp, it delivers 25 to 28 km/l on average, depending on riding style.
In practice, this means covering long distances while spending little — something that weighs heavily for those who use the motorcycle daily or need to cross cities and roads frequently.
Average Range: With a 13.6-liter tank, it’s possible to exceed 350 km easily.
For those who live on their motorcycle, this number speaks volumes.
The Comfort That Conquered Travelers
The XRE 300 is a modern trail when it comes to ergonomics. The wide seat, upright riding position, and softer-than-average suspensions make it a natural companion for long trips and uneven terrains.
It is not uncommon to find reports from motorcyclists who traveled Brazil with the model and returned with the same words:
“It goes far — and does so comfortably.”
This is reflected in its market valuation. Well-maintained models rarely stay on sale for long. Those who buy tend to hold on to them.
Simple Maintenance, Accessible Parts, and Known Mechanics
Over the years, the XRE has established itself as an easy-to-maintain motorcycle, thanks to three factors:
- established Honda network in Brazil
- abundant parts and fair prices
- simple and durable mechanics
This ensures a predictable ownership experience, something experienced motorcyclists value — especially in used motorcycles.
It’s no wonder that so many schools, companies, and official agencies use this model. In a continental country like Brazil, reliability is everything.
Why Does the XRE 300 Remain So Desired Even After Years?
Simple: because it delivers what many new motorcycles still promise to achieve.
It is:
- strong and economical
- comfortable and resistant
- light and easy to ride
- cheap to maintain
- ready for city, travel, and dirt
And, above all: it has Brazilian DNA and was made for our reality.
Potholes, heat, variable fuel, long distances, intense use — the XRE handles it all without drama.
With the rise in the prices of new motorcycles and the growing interest in travel and economic mobility, the XRE 300 has shone again among used motorcycles.
Finding a complete, economical, comfortable, and reliable trail for around R$ 18 thousand to R$ 21 thousand makes it one of the best purchases for those seeking a lasting partner.
If the Falcon marked the beginning of the era of accessible modern trails, the XRE 300 has carried that legacy into the future and remains strong, valued, and desired.
