Free Courses at IFSP Bring Options for In-Person and E-Learning, with Limited Spots and Selection by Registration Order, in Short-Term Classes in the Areas of Art, Image, Education in Sciences, and Building Infrastructure, with Registration Deadlines Ending in March.
The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), at the São Paulo Campus, has opened registrations for four free extension courses, with a simplified selection process and filling of spots by registration order, according to Notice No. 7/2026.
In total, the programs offer both in-person and distance options, with workloads ranging from 20 to 40 hours, aimed at both students and staff as well as the external public who meet the prerequisites described in the notice annex.
Among the classes, the standout in the number of opportunities is the course “Image Studies in the West: From Antiquity to Social Media”, offered entirely in E-Learning, with 40 spots and asynchronous activities available on the Moodle platform.

Senai will pay up to R$ 700 per month for those who take free technical courses: there are 12,000 open positions across Brazil and training with access to the technology market.
As the classification depends on the timing of the registration submission, IFSP advises attention to the correct submission of required documents, as the absence of any item listed in the notice may lead to loss of the spot and non-acceptance of the enrollment.
Registration Order and Selection Process Criteria at IFSP
Under the adopted model, the selection occurs in the order of registrations, automatically classifying the first candidates who demonstrate the prerequisites, respecting the distinction between general competition and reserved spots outlined for each course.
Furthermore, the notice states that if there are not enough candidates to fill reserved spots, the campus may call candidates classified within the number of spots in the general competition, following the organization indicated in the annex.
Another rule impacting interested parties’ planning is the possibility of early closure of registrations, as IFSP informs that they may be accepted only until all spots are filled or until 25% of the total workload of the course is completed.
Free Extension Courses: Art, Image, Education, and Infrastructure
In the arts section, the in-person course “Contemporary Art: Dialogues and Creations” has 36 hours, classes on Friday afternoons, and 15 spots, requiring a basic knowledge of art history for optimal benefit.
The image program, offered in E-Learning, proposes to discuss the production and meanings of the image in different contexts, from the ancient world to digital media, with a broad target audience and recommendation for students and teachers in fields such as Arts and Communication.
For those working in the classroom, the course “Educational Games for Natural Sciences in High School” is in-person, totals 40 hours, and takes place on Saturday mornings, with 15 spots and declared priority for graduates and students in fields like Mathematics and Biology.
In the technical area, “Building Systems for Combustible Gases” offers 20 hours of in-person classes, also on Saturdays, with 50 spots and content focused on infrastructure and building installations related to combustible gases, according to the notice details.
Affirmative Actions and Extension Certificate from IFSP
IFSP reports that, in the selection process, 5% of the spots are reserved for people with disabilities and 25% for candidates who are Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Quilombolas, with self-declaration at the time of registration, in accordance with the affirmative action policy.
Regarding certification, the notice establishes that only those who achieve sufficient performance, according to evaluation criteria defined in the Course Pedagogical Project, will be entitled to the certificate, which conditions issuance on the participant’s performance.
Registration Deadlines Until March and Disclosure of Lists
Registrations opened on February 6 and, according to the notice schedule, will continue until March 1 for Contemporary Art, with the classification list being published on March 4 and the start of in-person classes on March 6.
