According to CarNewsChina, the model had already received certification for its SBW system in China, making it the only vehicle on the planet with this technology validated by two of the world’s largest regulatory markets.

The European certification, known as UNECE E-Mark, was granted after rigorous tests conducted by the renowned Spanish company Applus+ IDIADA. This seal confirms that Nio’s SBW system meets the high safety and performance standards required in Europe, a significant milestone for the Chinese manufacturer and the technology itself.
