IFRJ Opens Enrollment for 208 Positions in Free Courses in Logistics, Administration, Electrician, and CAD with Certification and Workload of 162 Hours.

The Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), São João de Meriti campus, announced the opening of a new selection process for Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) courses. In total, 208 positions will be offered in free courses, all in-person, with certification and a workload of 162 hours. The initiative aims to democratize access to education, qualifying professionals to meet the current demands of the job market in the second semester of 2025.

Free Courses Federal Institute: Areas of Emphasis

According to Public Notice No. 53/2025, IFRJ will offer positions in five different areas, covering high-employability sectors:

  • Logistics Assistant (Class A): 30 positions in the evening period
  • Administrative Assistant (Class A): 30 positions in the evening period
  • CADD Technician for Civil Construction (Class A): 28 positions in the evening period
  • Storyteller: 50 positions in Distance Learning (EAD)
  • Low Voltage Building Electrician: 96 positions divided into four classes, in the afternoon and evening periods

These IF courses have been designed to cater to both young people seeking their first opportunity and adults wishing to reintegrate into the job market.

Who Can Register for Free Courses at IFRJ

The free courses at the Federal Institute have accessible requirements, allowing a diverse audience to participate:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years old by the enrollment date
  • Minimum Education:
    • Building Electrician: Incomplete Elementary Education I (1st to 5th grade)
    • CADD Technician, Administration, and Storyteller: Completed Elementary Education II (6th to 9th grade)
    • Logistics Assistant: Incomplete High School

In addition, the notice guarantees inclusion: 5% of the positions are reserved for People with Disabilities (PwD) and 20% for self-declared black, indigenous, or quilombola candidates.

Online Enrollment and Selection Process by Draw

Enrollment for the free courses at IFRJ is entirely online, from August 19 to 24, 2025, via the form provided in the notice. The process is free, but each candidate can compete for only one position.

The selection will be conducted through a public electronic draw, scheduled for August 28, 2025. This method ensures transparency and equality, avoiding the exclusion of candidates based on traditional testing criteria and expanding access opportunities.
