The free courses were created due to iFood's commitment to increase opportunities for low-income and underrepresented people, training 25 people in technology by 2025
The iFood delivery application opened 300 full scholarships in free courses in the technology area. The focus of the free courses is on low-income people and underrepresented groups such as women, blacks, indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA+ and people with disabilities. The courses are in partnership with the programming teaching platform, Rocketseat.

The courses are part of Potência Tech, an iFood program in partnership with technology schools that aims to train and offer opportunities to underrepresented people. Applications will be available until March 11th.
Rocketseat is a platform where students can learn programming from scratch, specialize in different technologies, increase their knowledge and join the largest community of developers in Brazil. The free courses in technology will have more than 600 classes and will be available on the online platform for the entire country.
Courses are in the following areas of technology:
- Front End: It's everything that surrounds the visible part of a website, with which users can interact. In this course, you will learn to develop the graphical interface from basic technical languages of web development. This means that you will produce codes to bring agility and responsiveness to the site, so that it works well on all types of screens;
- Back End: The Back End is responsible for the backstage of an application, that is, the codes that allow the visual part to work correctly. From this course on, you will become a professional who bridges the gap between the database and the browser's information using specific programming languages;
- Full Stack: The full stack developer is the professional who has the ability to work on the back end and front end, working at all levels of project development, from the creation of internal servers to communication interfaces with the end user;
- Data: This course will enable you to explore any database, perform data cleaning, identify problems and extract powerful insights, in addition to using the most appropriate data techniques to answer any business question in an informed and statistically relevant way.
