Excellence AI Announces Sovereign Data Centers Deployment in Bahia to Strengthen Brazilian Technological Autonomy and Reduce Dependence on Foreign Providers

Sovereign data centers will be the basis of the investment announced by the Indian Excellence AI in Bahia, focusing on technological autonomy, data security, and reduction of external dependence. The project was formalized at the Brazil-India Business Forum in New Delhi.

Excellence AI announced that it will implement sovereign data centers in the state of Bahia, aiming to strengthen Brazil’s technological autonomy.

The initiative intends to transform the Bahia territory into a strategic digital infrastructure hub in Latin America.

Compliance with LGPD and Advanced Cybersecurity Architecture

Among the project’s pillars is full compliance with the General Data Protection Law. The structure of the sovereign data centers will store sensitive data under Brazilian jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with national legislation.

The plan includes advanced cybersecurity architecture and preparation for the application of artificial intelligence.

Compliance with international ethical and regulatory standards related to the use of emerging technologies is also planned.

Reduction of Dependence and Strategic Strengthening

The project is the result of a partnership with the BRICS Forum International and has as one of its central reasons the reduction of Brazil’s dependence on foreign digital service providers.

The initiative seeks to increase national control over strategic data flows.

According to the company, the structure will enhance the response capacity to cyber threats. Technical, regulatory, and financial details of the plan are expected to be presented in March.

Qualified Jobs and Energy Sustainability

In addition to technological infrastructure, the sovereign data centers project includes the creation of qualified jobs in areas such as cybersecurity, software development, and data science.

Actions for local technical training, professional qualification, and support for startups are planned.

Another highlighted point involves energy sustainability. The plan focuses on the priority use of renewable sources, taking advantage of the solar and wind potential of the Bahia territory.

The strategy aims to align the new digital structure with global carbon reduction goals and strengthen the country’s technological autonomy, reducing external vulnerabilities.
