There were 16.128.826 megawatt-hours (MWh), that is, enough to meet the consumption of a state the size of Goiás or Pernambuco. With these data, Brazilian nuclear power plants reached an accumulated production of 306,7 million MWh.
Angra 1 nuclear power plant had, in 2019, the highest production in its history. The unit generated 5.546.164 megawatt hours (MWh), surpassing its best mark, obtained in 2012 (5.395.561 MWh).
This is enough energy to supply a city with more than 2,3 million inhabitants, such as Belo Horizonte (MG) or Fortaleza (CE) for one year.
The plant remained connected to the National Interconnected System (SIN) for 361 days in 2019 and reached a capacity factor of 98,21%, the highest among all electricity generators in the country, regardless of the source.
Angra 2 also had a good performance in 2019. The nuclear plant produced 10.582.662 MWh, its 8th best mark in history, in addition to having operated with a capacity fact of 89,38%, second only to Angra 1 in this regard, even with the stoppage of a month for refueling.
