Petrobras informed that it intends to raise values between US$ 25 and US$ 35 billion from the sale of assets, in its divestment plan, with this the oil production of the state-owned oil company could remain practically at the same level between 2021 and 2025. The data were informed by Petrobras during a virtual event for investors of the state-owned company, this Monday (30/11).

It is in the plans of Petrobras, the divestment of the oil fields of Albacora, Albacora Leste, Frade, half in the Marlin pole and in assets in land and shallow waters. The company will sell 209 onshore or shallow water fields, assets in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia and the United States and the Marlim Pole (50%).

Without taking divestments into account, the year's oil production state should remain at 2,75 million barrels of oil per day. This number could rise to 3,3 million in five years.

Taking into account the effects of divestments, Petrobras' total production will total 2,7 million barrels per day in 2025.

According to Carlos Alberto Oliveira, director of exploration and production at the oil company, this difference of 600 barrels of oil is due to divestments in onshore fields and shallow waters and divestments in Albacora and in the Marlim complex.

“After 2025, we could expect a growth in production, even with divestments, due to the growth in production in Búzios, where up to seven new systems are being planned or contracted from 2024”, said Oliveira.

The executive informs that next year the forecast of 2,72 million barrels of oil foreseen within the Business Plan 2021-2025 is lower compared to the previous planning (2,82 million barrels per day after divestments). The estimate for 2021 may vary by 4% up or down, due to uncertainties still related to the impact of the pandemic on the economy.
