According to data from the MME, the capacity utilization of Petrobras refineries decreased from 82% to 78,7%, a value recorded last Sunday (30)

At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the utilization factor of Petrobras' refineries had fallen to less than 55%, but the situation has been improving month by month and, on the last August 24th, it registered 82% of oil refining capacity. However, this value dropped to 78,7% on Sunday (30), according to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).

According to the MME, even with these records, the oil processing load values in refineries are at high levels, when compared to the values obtained before the pandemic. Altogether, Petrobras accounts for 99% of the country's oil refining capacity.

In addition, the covid-19 monitoring bulletin also contains the situation of transmission of the coronavirus among workers at Petrobras and Eletrobras. According to the document, among the 46,4 Petrobras workers, six are in the hospital and three died as a result of Covid-19. Eletrobras, on the other hand, had nine deaths among its 10,8 employees.

Process for the sale of Petrobras refineries wins a favorable opinion from the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU)

Even with the continuation of the sale of Petrobras' oil refineries suffering resistance in the Chamber and in the Federal Senate, the Federal Audit Court (TCU) informed that it is favorable to the decision to sell the refining assets of the state-owned company.

Earlier this month, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate asked the STF for an injunction to prevent Petrobras from selling its refineries in Bahia (Rlam) and Paraná (Repar), arguing that the transaction would go against a previous decision by the court itself in 2019.

According to advice from the TCU, “this decision is the final decision of the Plenary of the TCU… It was decided to archive the records. There are no future further actions regarding this specific process.” Learn more here.
