About Samarco:

The company has two operating units: Germano, in Mariana and Ouro Preto (MG), where iron ore is extracted and processed in three concentrators, and Ubu, in Anchieta (ES), where there are four pelletizing plants. The units are interconnected by three pipelines measuring 400 kilometers in length, which cross 25 municipalities in both states.

Its main product is iron ore pellets sold to the steel industry in 19 countries in the Americas, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. In 2015, the year in which Samarco paralyzed its operations after the Fundão dam collapsed, 24,9 million tons were produced, 97% of which in pellets and 3% in iron ore fines. That year, the company was the 12th largest exporter in Brazil and generated around 6 direct and indirect jobs.

Mining technician

• Education: Mining Technician;

• Experience in Open Pit Mine Operation and Infrastructure activities;
• Experience with mining processes, mechanical dismantling, excavation, loading, transport of ore, overburden and tailings, disposal in piles;
• Execution of peripheral activities related to the construction and maintenance of access roads, surface drainage, maintenance of slopes;
• Experience with overburden piles, ore piles and tailings in accordance with established operational standards, aiming to ensure the achievement of quality, production, cost, safety and environmental goals;

• CFT registration and intermediate Office package knowledge required.
