Santander Bootcamp 2025 Offers Training in Back-End with Java and Python, as Well as Front-End. Initiative Includes Certificate, Prizes, and Content for Beginners. Registrations Are Open Until May 18.

Santander, in partnership with the DIO (Digital Innovation One) platform, launched the 5th edition of the Santander Bootcamp 2025, offering 35,000 spots in free online courses for those looking to qualify in information technology. The initiative is aimed at beginners or individuals looking to change fields, focusing on employability and access to quality digital education.

Registration is open until May 18, 2025, and can be done for free on the Santander Open Academy website. The course is 100% online, with practical tracks and a completion certificate. The news was initially reported by Catraca Livre on March 25 and confirmed on the official portals of DIO and Santander.

What Is the Santander Bootcamp?

The Santander Bootcamp is a program that offers free courses and has already impacted thousands of people in its previous editions. This year, participants will be able to choose between three training tracks:

  • Back-End with Java
  • Back-End with Python
  • Front-End (focused on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)

According to the Startupi portal, it is not necessary to have a background in the field or to be a bank client. Any person over 18 years old and residing in Brazil can register.

Democratic Access and Promotion of Diversity

One of the program’s pillars is social inclusion. According to Santander, 30% of the spots are reserved for women and 40% for black and brown people, expanding access for underrepresented groups in the technology sector, where diversity is still a challenge.

The DIO platform, responsible for the content, has already trained over 1 million Brazilians and has partnerships with major companies such as Carrefour, iFood, and Localiza. DIO’s CEO, Iglá Generoso, emphasizes that the bootcamp “is a great entry point for those who want to start their career in technology, even without any prior experience.”

What Does the Free Course Offer?

The bootcamp has an estimated workload of between 70 and 100 hours, depending on the chosen track, and includes:

  • Recorded classes with market experts
  • Practical projects with real challenges from companies
  • Content on soft skills and career
  • Free completion certificate
  • Ranking system and awards

According to a report on TecMundo, the top three participants from each track — based on performance in the platform ranking — will receive vouchers in a virtual card:

  • 1st place: R$ 1,500
  • 2nd place: R$ 1,000
  • 3rd place: R$ 500

Why Is the Initiative Important?

The demand for technology professionals in Brazil is growing. According to Brasscom (Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies), the country needs to train about 800,000 IT professionals by 2025. Initiatives like this contribute to reducing this deficit while simultaneously combating inequality of opportunities.

Santander, through the Open Academy, also carries out other educational projects, and the bootcamp is one of the most popular. “We want to democratize access to knowledge and career in technology,” stated Carlos Alberto Sardenberg, the bank’s ESG director, in an official note. How to Register?

Interested individuals must register for free on the Santander Open Academy website and select the track of interest. After registration, the participant gains immediate access to the DIO platform, where they can start their studies at their own pace.
