The new company will unite the technical expertise of Honda, a renowned vehicle manufacturer conventional and electric vehicles, with the expertise of GS Yuasa, a technology leader of batteries. Together, they aim to accelerate technological progress and improve the efficiency of lithium-ion batteries, providing greater capacity and power to power the next generation of electric vehicles.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies, consolidating their ambitions to lead the automotive industry's transformation towards electric mobility. “Honda・GS Yuasa EV Battery R&D Co., Ltd.” be established later this year, paving the way for a new era of advanced battery and electric technology and contributing to the electric vehicle industry.

New Honda company with Japanese giant focuses on large-scale production of batteries for electric cars

The strategic partnership between Honda and GS Yuasa has as its central focus the research and development of lithium ion batteries, along with the implementation of highly competitive production methods on a global scale.
