Hyundai Introduces Elexio: Electric SUV With 700 Km Range, Innovative Interior And Semi-Autonomous Driving
Hyundai, in partnership with Chinese manufacturer BAIC, has just launched the Elexio, a new electric SUV that aims to make its mark in the electrified vehicle segment.
Officially presented in July 2025 during a special event held in Shanghai, China, the model draws attention for combining high range, a futuristic interior, and a large multimedia center capable of transforming the driving experience.

Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
However, an unusual feature promises to divide opinions among drivers.
Modern Design Bets On Clean Lines
The Elexio adopts a more understated look, distancing itself from the striking lines that identify the Ioniq family.
Developed on the E-GMP platform — the same base as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 electric models — the SUV features straight lines, a curvy hood, and an absence of a front grille.
Sharp headlights and a LED light bar running across the front enhance the technological vibe.
Details such as protruding bumpers, accentuated wheel arches, and flush door handles complete the ensemble, while the rear showcases thin interconnected taillights and the name “Elexio” prominently on the trunk lid.

Interior With Cinema Screen And Digital Controls
The main differentiator of the Elexio is the cabin, marked by a minimalistic and technological environment.
The dashboard houses two integrated 27-inch screens with 4K resolution, taking up almost the entire width of the console.
This multimedia center, larger than the average available on the market, is designed to offer visual experience close to that of a cinema, in addition to controlling nearly all functions of the vehicle.
There are no physical buttons, except for those positioned on the steering wheel, which may generate discomfort for those who prefer traditional controls.
The gear shift, on the other hand, is located on a stalk behind the steering wheel.
Additionally, the multimedia system is equipped with the advanced Qualcomm SA8295 chip, offering improved connectivity and various entertainment features.
The instrument panel is compact, and the interior uses premium materials that reinforce the futuristic proposition of the Elexio.
Semi-Autonomous Technology May Distract Some Drivers
Another highlight of the Hyundai Elexio is the presence of the ADAS Level 2+ driving assistance package, which allows the vehicle to perform maneuvers such as acceleration, braking, and lane-keeping autonomously in certain situations.
This functionality, representing an important step toward full automation, may not appeal to all users, especially those accustomed to total control over the vehicle’s commands.
The absence of analog controls may also be an adjustment point for many drivers.

Range And Performance Of The Hyundai Elexio
According to information released by Hyundai, the Elexio is expected to deliver about 700 km of range, according to the CLTC standard (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle), used in China to assess the energy performance of electrified vehicles.
This mark places the Elexio among the electric SUVs with the highest range in the global market today, meeting a growing demand for models with greater charging independence.
Despite the emphasis on range, Hyundai has yet to release official data on power, acceleration, or engine options.
The E-GMP platform, however, allows for the use of one or two electric motors, which could indicate future versions with different levels of performance.
Industry expectations are that these details will be revealed close to the start of sales in China, expected for the second half of 2025.
Production, Market And Global Strategy
The Hyundai Elexio will be produced in Chinese territory, resulting from an estimated investment of US$ 1.1 billion made by the South Korean brand in partnership with BAIC at the beginning of this year.
The choice of China reflects the strategic importance of that market for the development and popularization of electric vehicles.
For now, the company has not confirmed plans to export the Elexio to other countries, including Brazil.
In the Brazilian market, consumers interested in Hyundai’s electrified models currently have the hybrid SUV Kona and the electric hatch Ioniq 5, both imported.
There is still no forecast for the arrival of the Elexio or other fully electric launches from the brand in Brazil.
Highlights Of The Electric SUV Segment And Market Trends
The launch of the Elexio reinforces the trend of expansion in the electric SUV segment, driven by the increasing global demand for sustainable vehicles that are connected and equipped with advanced driver assistance systems.

On the international scene, competition intensifies with models like Tesla Model Y, BYD Tang EV And Volkswagen ID.4, all betting on autonomous driving technologies, digital displays, and extended range.
Innovation in interiors, with large screens and digital controls, signals a change in consumer profiles, who are increasingly demanding regarding connectivity and immersive experiences onboard.
Hyundai’s bet on futuristic design and cutting-edge technology in the Elexio, combined with the promise of high range, aims to meet this new audience profile and position the brand among the leaders in the segment.
After all, amid so many innovations, what stands out to you most in the new Hyundai Elexio: the exterior design, the high range, the futuristic cabin, or the total absence of physical buttons?
Will the experience of driving an SUV with a ‘cinema screen’ and digital controls really win over the Brazilian consumer if it arrives in the country? Share your opinion in the comments.
