In Vietnam, A Woman Restored An Old 29-Seat Hyundai Bus To Create A Fully Equipped Café On Wheels With Counter And Hinged Window

The Change Is Clear At First Glance. Out Goes The Empty, Oxidized Interior And In Comes An Organized Space With A Wooden Counter, Shelves, And Installed Equipment.

The Vietnamese Woman Responsible For The Project Completely Dismantled The 29-Seat Hyundai. She Exposed The Metal Structure, Treated The Bodywork, And Reconstructed The Interior With A Commercial Focus. Nothing Was MacGyvered.

Complete Dismantling Of The Old Bus Revealed Metal Structure And Rust Spots

It All Started With The Removal Of The Seats From The Old Bus. The Mounting Tracks Were Exposed On The Floor, As Well As Screws And Metal Supports That Held The 29 Original Seats.

With A Wrench, Pliers, And A Drill, Each Fixing Was Removed. The Floor Revealed Signs Of Wear And Areas Darkened By Oxidation. On The Sides, The Metal Plates Showed Visible Rust.

At The End Of This Phase, Only Vertical Columns, Curved Roof Beams, And The Inner Body Were Left Exposed. It Was The Raw Structural Base Of The Future Café On Wheels.

The Detail That Captured Attention Was The Care With The Corners And Joints Near The Windows, All Hand-Sanded.

Sanding, Cutting Plates, And New Paint Completely Changed The Interior

With The Structure Exposed, Heavy Technical Work Began. Rust Spots Were Sanded With An Abrasive Disc.

In Compromised Areas, Parts Of The Bodywork Were Cut Out And Replaced With New Metal Plates Fitted With Welding.

The Surfaces Were Ground Until They Became Smooth. Only Then Did The Painting Begin. Rollers And Brushes Covered The Inner Walls, Curved Ceiling, And Floor With Light Paint.

The Environment Became Brighter, More Spacious, And Visually Organized. What Was Raw Metal Now Had A Uniform Finish, Ready To Receive New Installations.

This Phase Was Crucial To Allow For The Assembly Of The Café On Wheels With A Solid Base.

Custom Wooden Counter Structured The New Café On Wheels

After The Painting, The Project Entered The Assembly Phase. Wooden Boards Were Cut To Size To Create A Sturdy Counter Along One Side Of The Old Hyundai Bus.

The Counter Was Secured With Metal Brackets Fastened Directly To The Inner Wall. The Installation Required Measurements With A Tape Measure, Precise Markings, And Alignment With Screws.

Above It, Shelves Were Installed Near The Windows. Cups, Jars, And Utensils Gained Defined Positions. The Interior Ceased To Be An Empty Space And Became Operationally Logical.

The Fit Between Wood And Metal Showed Structural Precision, Reinforcing Stability And Functionality.

Lateral Cut Created Hinged Window And Changed The Function Of The Vehicle

One Of The Most Striking Moments Was The Cutting Of Part Of The Side Panel Of The Old Bus. A Rectangular Area Was Marked And Removed To Create The Service Window.

After The Cut, The Edges Were Sanded And Adjusted. A Hinged Panel Was Installed At The Top With Metal Hinges. When Opened, It Acts As An External Cover.

This Detail Completely Changed The Function Of The Vehicle. The Interior Now Connects Directly To The Outside, Allowing For Service Without Customers Entering The Bus.

The Café On Wheels Stopped Being Just An Enclosed Space And Became An Accessible Sales Point.

Woman Added Coffee Machine, Grinder, And Lighting Made The Space Operational

With The Structure Ready, The Equipment Was Positioned. A Coffee Machine With A Visible Extraction Group Was Installed In The Center Of The Counter. Next To It, A Grinder With A Transparent Reservoir Completed The Preparation Area.

Cups Were Aligned On The Shelves. Jars Were Organized. Utensils Were Strategically Distributed. Electrical Wires Were Routed To Outlets Fixed On The Inner Wall.

Lights Installed In The Ceiling Enhanced The Lighting Over The Wooden Counter. At This Moment, What Seemed Impossible Became Reality. The Old 29-Seat Hyundai Bus Was Officially Transformed Into A Café On Wheels.

Woman Gave New Exterior Paint And Redefined The Visual Identity Of The Old Bus

The Transformation Was Not Just About The Interior. The Exterior Underwent Sanding And Received A New Uniform Coat Of Paint. Stains And Old Marks Disappeared.

Wheels And Bumpers Were Cleaned. The Hinged Window Became A Part Of The Overall Visual Design Of The Bodywork.

The Contrast Is Obvious. What Was Once An Abandoned Vehicle Now Conveys Organization, Purpose, And Commercial Identity.

In The End, The Structural Adaptation Of The Side With The Hinged Panel Was The Point That Most Redefined The Project. The Vietnamese Woman Not Only Restored Metal And Wood. She Reprogrammed The Use Of An Old 29-Seat Bus And Showed How Structural Reuse Can Generate A Real And Functional Business.
