New Motorcycle With 373 cc Engine Expected in 2026 Promises Comfort, Retro Style, and New Chapter in the Avenger Line; Discover the Bajaj Avenger 400 2026

Bajaj Auto, one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in India and a partner of KTM, is preparing a major update for its “cruiser” style motorcycle line. The new model, which is expected to hit the market in 2026, is the Bajaj Avenger 400 2026, a motorcycle with a classic retro style, a 373 cc engine derived from the KTM Duke 390, focusing entirely on comfort and long-distance travel, a segment still underexplored in Brazil. The project marks Bajaj’s attempt to combine the established look of traditional Avengers with the modern performance of larger engines, embedded technology, and components inherited from the group’s global partnerships. If confirmed, the new Avenger will be the largest evolutionary leap for the line since its launch in 2005, when it debuted in India with 150 cc and 220 cc engines.

Classic Heritage and Modern Ambition

The design of the new Avenger 400 follows the traditional recipe for road “cruisers”: elongated tank, lowered dual seat, wide handlebars, and relaxed riding position.

The look is inspired by American icons like the Harley-Davidson Street 750, but adapted to Asian realities, with reduced weight and affordable maintenance.

The major differentiator will be the 373 cc single-cylinder engine, with liquid cooling, fuel injection, and estimated power between 39 and 40 hp, the same engine used in the KTM 390 Duke and Dominar 400, also manufactured by Bajaj.

The torque is expected to be around 3.5 kgfm, enough to ensure quick accelerations and comfort on open roads — one of the main requirements for “cruiser” fans.

Abundant Comfort and Updated Electronics

The Avenger 400 2026 is also expected to debut with upside-down front suspension, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, and a digital TFT display, which is set to replace the analog display in the current versions.

The wide seat, backrest for the passenger, and low center of gravity reinforce the touring vocation of the motorcycle, which aims to offer superior comfort on long trips while maintaining maneuverability for urban use.

According to Indian reports from the 91Wheels and BikeWale portals, the motorcycle will utilize a new lightweight tubular chassis platform, designed to reduce vibrations and improve stability at high speeds.

The estimated fuel consumption is 25 to 30 km/l, depending on the riding mode — competitive figures for a motorcycle of nearly 400 cc.

Direct Competitor of Japanese Mids

With the arrival of the Avenger 400, Bajaj enters a market segment dominated by Japanese models such as Yamaha XMAX 300, Honda CB 300F Twister, and Kawasaki Eliminator 400, but with a significantly more affordable price proposition.

In India, the estimate is that the model will arrive costing the equivalent of R$ 23,000, which would place it, in the event of importation, with a final price in Brazil between R$ 30,000 and R$ 35,000, below the range of national mid-sized motorcycles, making it one of the cheapest “cruisers” in the world.

Bajaj bets on the formula “affordable price + retro look + travel comfort”, which has attracted both young and experienced motorcyclists looking for a commanding motorcycle that is easy to maintain.

Possible Arrival in Brazil

Since 2022, Bajaj has been strengthening its presence in Brazil with models such as Dominar 160, Dominar 200, and Dominar 400, and is already studying to expand its line with new options of mid-sized models. The possible production of the Avenger 400 in Manaus (AM) is under review, according to behind-the-scenes information published by Motor1 Brasil.

If the model receives the green light, it could be launched in the country between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, as an option for those looking for a more “cruiser” style motorcycle, comfortable and with a classic touch, something practically nonexistent in price ranges below R$ 50,000.

The Return of Classic Road Motorcycles

The resurgence of mid-sized cruisers is gaining momentum in emerging markets. Brands like Royal Enfield and Keeway have already proven that there is a loyal audience for this style, and Bajaj wants to capitalize on this moment.

The Avenger 400 2026 emerges as a symbol of the modern reinterpretation of road motorcycles, combining torque, style, and comfort with technology and economy.

Its positioning as an intermediate cruiser with a sportbike DNA could place it among the most interesting models in the upcoming global launch cycle, especially if the brand confirms its arrival in Latin America.

Colocar que ela seria concorrente da Twister e da XMax 300, nada haver, a moto é uma cruiser. Ela vai concorrer com as Cruizers.
