The Honda CG 160 Alone Accounted for 22% of Motorcycles Sold in Brazil in 2025, Surpassing Even the Fiat Strada, and the 2026 Line Debuts Only with Price Adjustments and New Color Options.

According to data released by the Motor1 portal, between January and July 2025, 1.2 million motorcycles were registered in the country, of which 267,973 were Honda CG 160.

The model not only leads the two-wheeler market but is also the best-selling vehicle in Brazil, surpassing automobiles like the Fiat Strada. Now, the manufacturer is preparing for the arrival of the 2026 line, scheduled for September, bringing only cosmetic changes and price adjustments.

The Dominance of the Honda CG 160 in the Brazilian Market

The Honda CG 160 alone accounted for 22% of all motorcycles sold in Brazil in 2025, surpassing even the Fiat Strada, and the 2026 line arrives only with new colors and price adjustments

The success of the CG 160 reflects a historic consumer behavior in Brazil.

For every five motorcycles sold in 2025, more than one was a CG 160, showing the model’s strength in urban mobility and also in professional uses.

With 22% market share, the motorcycle has established itself as the main alternative against rising automobile costs and the quest for fuel economy.

For many Brazilians, the CG 160 is seen as the most reliable choice for daily commutes, deliveries, and accessible transport.

What Changes in the 2026 Line

According to Honda, the 2026 line retains the base of the update made in 2025, when the model received a digital panel across all versions, standard front disc brake, recalibrated suspension, and ABS system in the Titan version.

Now, the main novelty lies in the new colors and price adjustments.

The design continues with a metal tank protected by plastic fairings, LED taillight, resin grab rails, aluminum footpegs, and alloy wheels with tubeless tires.

The digital panel remains standard, varying between light background (Start and Cargo) and blackout style (Fan and Titan).

Engine and Mechanics Remain Unchanged

The Honda CG 160 alone accounted for 22% of all motorcycles sold in Brazil in 2025, surpassing even the Fiat Strada, and the 2026 line arrives only with new colors and price adjustments

In the mechanical set, the CG 160 2026 retains the 162.7 cm³ OHC single-cylinder engine, with PGM-FI electronic injection and a five-speed gearbox.

The Start runs only on gasoline, while Fan, Cargo, and Titan are flex-fuel.

To meet the requirements of the Promot, the motorcycle has two catalysts, which slightly reduced power but improved emissions and environmental efficiency.

The chassis maintains a reinforced rectangular rear swingarm and front suspension with new springs and hydraulic fluid in both forks, increasing robustness and comfort.

Prices and Colors of the Honda CG 160 2026

The 2026 line brings slight adjustments in all versions. Check it out:

Start – R$ 16,770 (+R$ 330) – Pearl Blue, Pearl Red, and Black.

Cargo – R$ 17,780 (+R$ 350) – White.

Fan – R$ 18,350 (+R$ 360) – Metallic Silver, Pearl Red, and Metallic Black.

Titan – R$ 19,910 (+R$ 390) – Pearl Gray, Metallic Red, and Metallic Black.

The CG Remains the “Motorcycle of Brazil”

Even with discreet changes, the Honda CG 160 continues to dominate the Brazilian market.

Its balance between price, robustness, and low maintenance costs keeps it as a reference in the sector.

The 2026 line reinforces the brand’s strategy to consolidate leadership without altering the formula that has already won over more than 267,000 consumers in just seven months of 2025.

And you, do you think the Honda CG 160 remains unbeatable in the motorcycle market? Or is it time for a deeper renovation of the model? Share your opinion in the comments — we want to hear your view on the “motorcycle of Brazil”.
